Maruti Smart Play studio

Maruti has equipped its new cars like WagonR ,Spresso and baleno with a new type of infotainment system called as Smart Play Studio. It is a 17.78cm touch screen display which has Radio-FM,AM,DRM , Aux, USB, Navimaps, AHA Radio, Android Auto, Apple Carplay etc…

In this article I will explain about how to connect a mobile phone to the smart play studio system. In order to connect to the smartplay studio system we must have an android or apple phone with the below given apps installed.

• Smartplay studio by Maruti Suzuki
• AHA Radio
• Navimaps
• Smartplay Remote app

After installing all these apps connect the phone to the device using both bluetooth and also through wired connection

For Bluetooth connection- Follow the instructions as shown in the images

Touch on time clock

Select search from Infotainment

After selecting search from Infotainment- It looks like this

Then it will display phone name– Select it

Ensure All the the three toggle buttons are on

Phone is now connected

Wired Connection

Now I will instruct on how to connect the phone using wired connection, After installing all the apps as mentioned above , go to settings by touching on the settings icon on the right side of screen then go to phone settings as shown in the below image then select the smartplay studio. If you select Android auto instead of smartplay studio it will launch android auto while connecting the smart phone.

AHA Radio

AHA radio is a internet based radio service which can be streamed in to the smartplay studio system using bluetooth and internet . It contains news from BBC,NDTV etc.. , Weather reports, New release songs , Nearby restaurants details etc…

NAVIMAPS

Navimaps is an offline map service which can be seen on the screen using a only a wired connection , NAVIMAPS mirroring is only available to the registered user , that means only registered owner can mirror the NAVIMAPS in to the system.

For a person who doesn’t have ownership of this system or car equipped with this system, they can download the map application but for downloading the map data the user must make payment . But if it is a Wagonr/Spresso customer he/she can download the map data free of cost, as of now, this may or may not change in the future.

Benefits

Benefits of using this system is user have additional access to apps like Smartplay studio , AHA radio and Navimaps , also NAVIMAPS can be used offline.
